Fire Damage Restoration in Mooresville

Check out this fire damage restoration project in Mooresville – what went right, what went wrong!

Performing fire damage restoration is something that only a professional with years of hands-on experience should tackle. There are many factors that need to be considered such as electrical wiring, how the fire started, and any hazardous materials that may be present in the rubble. Our crew knows exactly what to look for and execute a plan that will safely and effectively result in fire damage restoration.

We once worked on a house that experienced a fire that started in the family’s garage. They were grilling out and one thing lead to another and the garage started on fire. Luckily, the family’s vehicle was parked in the driveway but they lost everything else from bicycles to a freezer filled with food. Needless to say, the family was devastated.

They contacted our 24-hour emergency number at around 6 pm that evening after the fire trucks had all left. Apparently, one of the firemen gave the family our name and said we were the best in the business. We wanted to live up to that compliment and promptly came over the family’s home so we could asses the damage. Of course, this consultation was free.

Our licensed and insured company took one look at the garage and realized we had our work cut out for us. We could perform fire damage restoration services but it was going to involve gutting the entire space. On the bright side, the framework of the garage was unharmed.

We began by doing some good old-fashioned shoveling of debris. Our team used two large dumpsters to hold the debris and once they were full we hauled them away for the family. We tore out drywall, wood, and glass. Sadly, nothing was salvageable. Thankfully, the family’s homeowner’s insurance covered the fire damage restoration services.

Once the garage was gutted we swept up all debris from the concrete floor. Our goal was to make a clean and tidy space for the contractors to work. We knew that the family wanted their garage back as soon as possible.

There was a lingering scent of smoke in the garage but by leaving the door open the odor soon dissipated within a week’s time. The new drywall and fresh paint would further correct this problem. Our client actually confirmed this to be the case. All in all, this was a job well done that left our client very happy and relieved.
